Google Page rank is based on back links. Back links are Links pointing to your website from another website. The more back links you have the higher your PR will be.
1. Join forums, forums are a great way to achieve links to your website. In most forums you are allowed to have a signature and in your signature you can put a link to your website. But another important note to look on is making sure the forum is somewhat related to your website. You will still get credit if it's not, but if it's related to your website than you will be accomplishing two tasks at once.
You will be advertising for your website (bringing in targeted traffic) You will also be building your websites presence.
Your websites presence is very important to your survival. The more people see, or hear about your website the more credibility you will have and this increases your chances of having these visitors come back and possibly become leads.
2. Submit to search engine directories. Search engine directories are a good way to get a free link to your website. They also increase your chances at being listed higher on popular search engines like Google, and overture.
Most search engine directories allow you to submit to their website for free. This will allow you to increase your web presence by being listed on another search engine, and it will also be a free link.
Remember the more links you have the higher your PR will be
3. Using ezine ads (or newsletters). Creating an ezine will probably be the most beneficial step you can take to increasing your web presence. When you create an ezine you will be able to keep visitors coming back to your website for more by using signatures and giving special deals.
Ezine's will also allow you to increase your back links. By creating an ezine you can submit your information about your ezine to an ezine directory. This directory will than link to your website(thus giving you a free link).
4. Creating and publishing articles. Articles are an easy source of generating new traffic. You can include your signature in your article. This will bring in more traffic from article submission directories.
Your signature usually consists of 4 to 8 lines. Usually the first line would be the title of the website that you are trying to advertise. The last line would be the link to the website and the lines in between these would be a sales pitch to draw your viewers into your website.
5. Links from related websites. Gaining links from related websites can be one of the most frustrating tasks you can attempt.
They are very easy to find, but can be somewhat difficult to obtain links from.
To find related websites, all you have to do is go to a search engine... say Google... and type in your subject. Maybe your website is based on ford mustangs.
You go to Google and type in ford mustangs, than you look around for pages that are somewhat related to your website. After you have done this (which should be very easy) you have to contact them in some way to get your link posted on their website. This can be the most difficult task because a lot of webmasters ignore e-mail's from people requesting links because they don't see the importance of it at the time. Some other reasons could be that they are rarely online, or they delete spam mail and sometimes delete their important emails in the process.
Important note: When looking for link partners don't just link with websites that have a page rank of 4 or higher. Link with anyone and everyone you get a chance to. If you link to someone that has a page rank of zero, this will not hurt your page rank. It will only increase it because you are getting a link back to your website. Google doesn't look at your back links page ranks to determine what yours is going to be. It simply looks at how many back links you have.
So if Google one day decided to link to a website that was just created and this website has a page rank of 0 and has a domain that goes something like this: mywebsite.geocities.com it's page rank wouldn't increase even though Google's page rank is 10, it's rank would still be zero because it would only have that one back link.

How to Insert a Custom Signature in Blogger
Before I explain how to insert a custom signature at the end of each of your blog posts, please note this is tutorial is only meant for users of Blogger. If you want to do this with Wordpress or something similar, you'll have to find a tutorial created by someone familiar with those platforms, as I don't use them. So, assuming that you're a Blogger blogger, let's first talk about why you might want a custom signature. The main reason that comes to mind is that they look pretty cool. The second reason would be that they do set your blog apart from other blogs, because there aren't too many people who use custom signatures. And the third reason would have to be because they are really quite easy to make and install!
There are two methods which I find easy to use, but before I go into either one, let me first say that you will need to have your signature already prepared, as this tutorial isn't going to explain how to make one. All you need is a suitably sized graphic image (something around 160 x 70 pixels is about as big as I personally would go), be it a jpeg file or something similar, and host it somewhere free, like photobucket.com. Once you've got it uploaded, you're ready for the steps below.
Step 1.
Go to your Blogger Dashboard > Go to your Blog Settings > Go to Formatting > Scroll down to the Post Template box.
Step 2.
Insert this code into the box:<p><image class="centered"alt="post signature" src="sig URL" /></p>
Step 3.
Copy the url of your image and paste it into the code where you see the words "sig URL". For example, when you're done it should look something like this -- with the part in bold being the actual address of your own jpeg.
<br><p><image class="centered"alt="post signature" src="http://www.yourphotohost.com/yourgraphic.jpg" /></p>
Things to Note:
If you use this method, the image will appear in your blogger control panel when you create your posts. You will see it there before you enter your text. While this is a very easy method, it's not the one I use for two reasons:
*
1. If you accidentally delete the image while typing your post, you will have to close and start a new post to get the image back in there.
*
2. The image will only show up in the posts you create from that moment forward, they will not show up in your previous posts.
The Way I Prefer
Before you try this, realize that you need to go into your blog's HTML template and adjust the code. If you don't know what that is, do not try this. Seriously -- if you don't know what HTML is, if you don't know how to change things in your template already, don't play with this because you can screw your entire blog up very easily if you make a small mistake. Right, for the rest of you, this is actually pretty easy going as far as changing the code:
Step 1: Access your template
(I'm not explaining how to get there, as those of you familiar with it will already know how to do it).
Step 2. Find this code:
<div class='post-body entry-content'> <data:post.body/> <div style='clear: both;'/> <!-- clear for photos floats --> </div> <div class='post-footer'>
Step 3: Insert your image code (see bold) as follows:
<div class='post-body entry-content'> <data:post.body/> <div style='clear: both;'/> <!-- clear for photos floats --> </div> <br><img src='http://photobucket.com/signature.jpg'/></br> <div class='post-footer'>
Step 4: Preview and Save
Things to Note:
I added the <br>code because in the blog I was creating, it needed it. You may want to remove, or add additional, space as you see fit. This method will not have the signature appearing in the control panel, it will simply show up when you post. It will also show up in all the previous posts.

Add Sticky Post/Adsense/Search Box In Main Column
Let's suppose you want to feature a sticky post at the top of your Blogger posts, or perhaps you'd like to insert an AdSense box or site search facility. At present, there is no facility to do this in the default Blogger layouts system. But there are two ways around this problem. Change the post date to a future time:
This is the easiest method, and is most useful for those who need a sticky post, perhaps about a future event after which time the post need not be at the top of other posts. To do this, simply click on "Post Options" beneath the type box when you are editing your post and change the date to somewhere in the future. Blogger doesn't have the facility to publish posts on a future date, so your "sticky post" will remain at the top of your main column until this date has passed.
Add a new page element:
This is a more permanant, neater and convenient way to add a "sticky post" to the top of your main column. Uses for this may include a search box, a message about your blog, or Adsense/banner ads. You'll notice in the default Blogger layout for your template that there is no "Add a page elenent" in the posts box. You can change this by following these steps:
1. Go to Page Elements>Edit HTML in your blogger dashboard. You don't need to expand the widget templates for this hack.
2. Find the following section of code:
<div id='main-wrapper'> <b:section class='main' id='main' showaddelement='no'><b:widget id='Blog1' locked='true' title='Blog Posts' type='Blog'/></b:section> </div>
# This section relates to the "Posts" section in your layout.
# Notice the part which says:
# Save your template and take a look at your "Page Elements". You should now see an "Add Page Element" link in the posts section (click image for an enlargement):
You can choose to add different page elements depending on your requirements:
* To write an introduction to your blog, choose "Text"To add code for Adsense/banner ads, choose "HTML/Javascript"
* To add a search function, copy your code into an "HTML/Javascript" element.
* To add an image, choose "Picture".
The process for creating a custom header is similar to this method, which you can read about here.

Firefox Keyboard Shortcuts
This is a list of keyboard shortcuts in Mozilla Firefox. If you have enabled Emacs-style text editing shortcuts in GNOME, they will also work in Firefox. When an Emacs text editing shortcut conflicts with the default shortcuts (as occurs with CtrlCmd+K), the Emacs shortcut will take preference if focus is inside a textbox (which would include the location bar and search bar). In such cases you should use the alternate keyboard shortcut if one is listed below.
